Cisco Acquires Set-Top Box Unit of DVN for $44.5 Million
Cisco is acquiring the set-top box unit of the largest cable company in China, DVN, for $44.5 million. $17.5 million will be paid up front, and maximun $27 million to be paid over four years based on the sales. Cisco says, the set-top box unit bought from DVN, will become part of Cisco’s International Cable Business Unit within the Service Provider Video Technology Group.
Recent Acquisitions of Cisco: $183 million acquisition of ScanSafe, the software-as- a-service (SaaS) Web security solutions provider; $2.9 billion acquisition of Starent Networks, the mobile networking infrastructure provider; $3 billion acquisition of Tandberg, the video video-conferencing company.
